Greetings, everyone.
I am Confirm, the main translator of Eastern Translation Expedition, a group of passionate fan-translators working on Kajiri Kamui Kagura.
Kajiri Kamui Kagura is the third installment of the famous Shinza Bansho Series, a multimedia franchise that begins with Visual Novels such as Paradise Lost and Dies Irae.
The franchise once enjoyed a series of successes and was widely known in the Visual Novel Community for many years, attracting a huge crowd of loyal fans, and with multiple works being translated, the most known example is Dies Irae, being officially approved by its developing company, light and translated by a team of veteran professional translators.
However, Shinza Bansho Series' success was short-lived when multiple failures in the development of the anticipated Dies Irae Pantheon plunged Greenwood, the mother company of light to file for bankruptcy. In spite of the situation, and the author, Takeshi Masada was forced to continue the story of Shinza Bansho Series as webnovels, the series thrives.
However, in the light of the situation, the prospect for future official translations was reduced to a dream for naught. In spite of its large loyal fanbase, few attempts were made amongst the fans to translate other works of Shinza Bansho Series with little-to-no success, ridden by low-quality translations and a lack of coordination for many years.
That is where we, the Eastern Translation Expedition, came in. Driven by pure passion and love for the Shinza Bansho Series, we, a group of fan-translators, have decided to work on creating an English Patch for Kajiri Kamui Kagura.
Translating Kajiri Kamui Kagura is not an easy task due to its prose and heavy Eastern-oriented themes. We also lack experience and organization, being a new group of amateurs, and the progress is not fast as each of us has a life to dedicate to. Even so, we have confidence in our passion and patience until the completion of this translation project, even if it would take years to be done.
We do not welcome spam, hate, flaming, or trolling. We are here to translate and spread the name of Shinza Bansho Series to within and without the fanbase and its community. Any positive response, suggestion, and constructive criticism are highly welcomed.

The prelude of Kajiri Kamui Kagura begins with an elderly Kyogetsu Sakuya, one of the main characters in Kajiri Kamui Kagura writting a letter of gratitude to an unknown party. Near the end, she decides to narrate the tale of her younger days from many decades, which is the tale of Kajiri Kamui Kagura we know to the said unknown party.
First, the Japanese suffix will not be used and supplanted by English equivalent. Thus, you would see words “Lady”, “Sir”, “Lord”, “Mr” or “Mrs” instead of “kun”, “san”, “sama”, “dono”.
Second, except for name and location, any term that can be translated will be translated and not to be kept in Romanji reading. Such as Chinese terms like “Taikyoku” will become “Taiji” or Buddhism terms to be translated in Sanskirt.
Last, here are various terms and how they were translated in this video:
自己愛 or Narcissistic Personality Disorder
輪廻 or Samsara – the Six Paths of Reincarnation, consists Deva Realm, Ashura Realm, Human Realm, Animal Realm, Hunger Realm and Hell Realm in Buddhism.
修羅道 or Ashuraloka – The World of Ashura in Six Paths of Reincarnation, below only the Deva Realm in Buddhism.
非想天 or Ayatana – Shortened for Nevasaññānāsaññāyatana (非想非非想天), the highest realm of the four Formless Realms in Buddhism.
八大地獄 or Astosananaraka – The Eight Hot Hells of Naraka below Mount Meru, where evildoers suffer kalpas of punshiment for their wrongdoings when they were alive in Buddhism.
天狗道 or Maraloka – the Tengu are a group of creatures found in Japanese folklore. In Japanese Buddhism, they are a group of evil creatures from Madou/Gedou, which is the realm of devils outside the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Madou/Gedou is also the abode of Mara, the lord of devils that obstructs Gautama Buddha in his path to enlightenment. Tengu-Dou means the “world of Tengu” and Hajun is another way to refer Mara. Thus, we believe translating Tengu-Dou as Maraloka would capture the essence of the World of Sixth Heaven, being portrayed in the same manner as the dharma-less world of Kali Yugi.
Hope this explanation is sufficient and everyone enjoys the video!
