Bell Toll Ceremony in memory of CHP Officer Miguel Cano, who tragically died in the line of duty on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 following a suspected medical emergency while on patrol in Culver City. Officer Cano, 34, graduated from the CHP Academy in November 2023 and served the West Los Angeles Area with pride and dedication. He is survived by his wife, Melissa, and his parents. He is the 233rd CHP officer to make the ultimate sacrifice since our Department’s founding in 1929. The Bell Toll Ceremony took place at the California Highway Patrol Academy on July 3, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
Officer Cano's sacrifice will never be forgotten.
