Men's CBB: Georgetown vs North Carolina, NCAA East Region final, 25-Mar-2007, full game

The Georgetown Hoyas defeated the North Carolina Tarheels 96-84 in overtime at the Meadowlands in East Ruthersford, NJ to advance to the 2007 Final Four. Jim Nance and Billy Packer had the call.

North Carolina was able to establish a lead halfway through the first half with strong work inside and at the foul line, and maintained control until late, with a 10-point lead (75-65) with only six minutes left. But a historic cold spell sank their hopes, as the Tarheels made 1 of their next 22 attempts from the floor.

Meanwhile, Georgetown remained calm in the face of the Tarheels pressure and the foul disparity, continuing to run their offense as they finally tied the game with 31 seconds left in regulation and then scoring relentlessly in overtime to close the game on a 31-9 run.

Jeff Green led the Hoyas with 22 pts and 9 rebs, and the rest of the starters all scored in double figures: DaJuan Summers (20 pt), Jonathan Wallace (19 pt, 7 ast), Jessie Sapp (15 pt, 8 ast), Roy Hibbert (13 pt, 11 reb).

Tyler Hansbrough was the star for the Tarheels, with 26 pts and 11 reb, including 14-16 FT. Brandan Wright added 14 pts, and Reyshawn Terry (10 pt) and Deon Thompson (14 pt) led the North Carolina bench that went 7 deep in the game.
