INGREDIENTS
1 Can whole tomatoes (28 oz.) packed in juice. Separate tomatoes and reserve 8 oz. of juice
2 Cans tomato paste (6 ounce)
1 can (15 1/2 oz.) chicken stock
1 tsp kosher-salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp sugar
1 Tbsp Basil
1 Tbsp Dry oregano
1 tsp Dry Rosemary
1 lb. sweet sausages casings removed
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb pasta
pecorino cheese
DIRECTIONS
In a food processor, add the first 11 ingredients, liquify and reserve. In a 5 quart Dutch oven, melt butter in oil over medium high heat, cook meats until browned. Add the reserved tomato mixture, bring to a boil then simmer for 30 minutes. Cook pasta according to direction and serve with a heaping ladle of sauce over each bowl of pasta. Sprinkle with pecorino and enjoy. Save remaining meat sauce for another use. Freezes well.
NOTES
If you have a smaller processor, do in two batches. The tomato paste and chicken stock in one batch and the rest of the ingredients in a second batch.
