12 Items to DISMANTLE this 1972 FX “Miami Vice” Shovelhead

In this video, we say goodbye to the 1972 FX “Miami Vice” Shovelhead as I tear it down to the frame and motor in this 2-part series.

I’ll be removing the inner primary, belt drive, shifter arm, juice brake bracket, master link & chain, transmission, brake line, both shock absorbers, custom strutless fender, rear end, Narrow Glide front end with matching Invader wheels.

Backstory: The frame and motor were supposed to be sold together but the guy flaked out on me the day after I removed everything as promised. The motor & transmission were rebuilt and doesn’t even have fluids in it when I bought the bike. I could tell the previous owner of this 1972 Shovelhead put his heart & soul into this amazing custom built bike. Unfortunately he passed away before he was able to complete this masterpiece.

I may just reassemble this new motor and frame into a new bike, I also saved all the bits & pieces with the custom paint job for a future project. Stay tuned for her journey, maybe this Miami Vice themed bike will be reborn into 2 equally awesome bikes!
