Sean Reinert was an American drummer, composer, and educator, best known for his work in the bands Cynic and Death. He was a pioneering figure in metal drumming, influencing the genre with his technical proficiency and innovative use of jazz-influenced techniques. Reinert was also known for the band Æon Spoke and publicly came out as gay in 2014. He died on January 24, 2020, at the age of 48
