Santa Luċija’s Garden of Serenity | S6 EP: 9, part 2 | The Local Traveller with Clare Agius | Malta

Step inside Santa Luċija’s Garden of Serenity, a Chinese-inspired oasis just off one of Malta’s busiest roads. Clare meets Mr Chen to uncover how this Suzhou-style garden, complete with feng shui water features, Taihu stone, bamboo and panda statues, became a symbol of friendship between Malta and China. Then we join Mary and the local community who use the space for daily activities and quiet reflection.

Finally, landscape architect Frank guides us through Ġnien l-Iskultura, a stunning new sculpture garden with a huge koi pond, snake canopy, Maltese trees and a hilltop belvedere overlooking it all.
