Mount Elizabeth Trail, KITIMAT BC.

Mount Elizabeth is located in the Kitimat Valley in the Pacific Northwest of British Columbia. The trail up the mountain is 11km, with an elevation gain of 1400 meters. This is a difficult hike, that rewards you with views of the surrounding mountain tops, the community of Kitimat and the Douglas channel. The trail is a grueling climb up through the forest to the alpine, where you begin to be rewarded for your efforts, finally. This is a difficult hike. The views from this point on to the summit are majestic in every way. you need to resist the urge to pull out the camera and continuously take pictures as this is the time to just be in the moment and immerse yourself in the environment. There is feeling that comes over you of epic proportions when your on top of a mountain looking down on the world. Knowing you climbed to this point, you have withstood the challenges the mountain threw at at you and you overcame them. You feel a sense of accomplishment, and humbleness at the the same time when you are looking around a full 360 degrees at the world and realize just how beautiful this area is, and just how small you are.
