This video is on a bit of a different track than my usual content because we recently started a brand new adventure: parenthood. So far it's been exhilarating and overwhelming---and definitely the most emotional experience I have ever had.
Because of my gestational diabetes and the baby's genetics, she was very large for her gestational age and I ended up needing a planned c-section to avoid some of the risks of a vaginal birth. It was a nerve-wracking decision to make because we had to switch up our birth plan in the very last weeks of my pregnancy. The baby was delivered at 39 weeks! I was so nervous heading into the c-section because I had never undergone a major surgery before (or any surgery) and wasn't sure what to expect, especially when it came to pain and the immediate healing process. Now that we are more than a month out, I can say that it was not nearly as bad as I had feared, and was a generally positive experience to go through. To all of the pregnant moms out there, hopefully this video sheds some light on the process through my personal experience.
If you'd like to see more mom content, let me know in the comments below :)
