Ford's legendary small block 5.0L (302 Cubic Inch) V8 is a great engine that came with many of it's vehicles for over 30 years. The last generation of these engines came in the second generation Ford Explorers, and Mercury Mountaineers. Originally they came with an exhaust system that consisted of multiple catalytic converters for emission control, and one singular tailpipe. On my '98 Mercury I have gotten a Flowmaster 40 dual exhaust system installed, and secondary cats removed. In this video I will show you the whole exhaust system on my vehicle, and also start the vehicle up so you can hear it.
