Oikos Vanilla Protein Shake vs Core Power Elite Vanilla - Game changer?

We all know that protein is key to building and maintaining muscle. Protein shakes have exploded in popularity because of it. Fairlife, which is owned by Coca Cola of all companies, produced some of the finest high protein milks and shakes on the market. Prior to their acquisition by Coca Cola, they USED to produce them a reasonable prices...but alas no more.

The Core Power Elite shakes command a hefty premium and even now, the cheapest I can find online in bulk is over $50 for 12. (Sometimes you can get a subscribe n save deal from Amazon that brings it down some). At gas stations and grocery stores, the shakes easily command $5-6 and up.

Fairlife and Coca cola have priced most people out of these shakes if they want to make them a regular part of their nutritional supplementation.

Surely there's a market for someone else to step in and produce a good tasting shake at a reasonable price? Why yes, yes there is. Enter the Oikos 30g Vanilla Shake.

I'm incredibly picky, before I tried all the premade shakes, I took numerous stabs at the protein powder shakes. Let me save everyone a lot of time...they all absolutely suck. They taste disgusting, they have that terrible foamy texture and drinking them is pure misery. Save yourself a ton of headaches and reach for the premade shakes. Some of them are better than others.

The best I've tried has been the Core Power Elite Vanilla and now the Oikos 30g Protein shake. Whereas the Core Power Elite is $5-6, the Oikos Shake is only $2!!! It tastes as good and is half the price. It also has almost the exact same protein gram to calorie ratio (about 5.4 vs 5.6).

If you're looking to supplement your protein (and you should be), this is the best shake on the market by far. It is far superior to other premade shakes like Muscle Milk, Premier Protein, Nurri, Equate etc and reasonably priced.

Although it's a yogurt base, it doesn't taste like it (believe me, I absolutely detest yogurt!). It tastes refreshing and pleasant and its very enjoyable to drink, it definitely feels like a treat rather than a chore.

One additional advantage of the Oikos Vanilla Shake is that it makes a really great ice cream if you're using a Ninja Creami! I've made ice cream batches with both Core Power Elite and the Oikos was superior in taste! The Core Power Elite was a little "chewy." It tasted good but was just a little more pliable. The Oikos pretty much tasted just like a great off the shelf ice cream.
