The Canadiens’ Patrik Laine hasn’t played since have surgery to repair a core muscle injury in late October. At the time the Canadiens said Laine would be sidelined for three-to-four months.
The 27-year-old winger, who is in the final season of his contract with a US$8.7 million salary-cap hit, is skating again and could soon be ready to return to the lineup. But do the Canadiens have a spot for him?
