Allotment Diary Sep 1st Harvesting the Exhibition Show Carrots & Parsnips

It's the start of the Vegetable Show season for me so I decided to harvest a few of the Root Vegetables for this Sundays show.
Given this years weather I knew that the long carrots outside would be rubbish and thought the long parsnips would be the same.
The long carrot variety were from a new source this year and apparently from a Previous Champion who has won at all levels but judging by my results I'll stick to my old supplier from now on.
It's Medwyns for me from now on as they're always reliable seed.
The Stump rooted carrots grown in the polytunnel looked good but I wouldn't know until they were all pulled out.
This is what occured.
