Another father–son adventure with me and Connor (aka Tides & Tribe)!
Today’s session took an unexpected turn right from the moment we overslept. The original plan was to hit the beach early, but with me feeling rough from a cold and flu, plus the late start, we diverted to Whitstable Harbour so we could use the car as a warm base between casts.
Even though the fishing wasn’t red-hot, the sun was shining, the fresh air helped clear my head, and the laughs made it more than worth it. We mainly found dogfish and whiting, but the real joy was spending quality time with my boy.

We also ended up befriending a cheeky seagull who kept trying to rob our bait and fish. Eventually he walked away happy after being fed the whiting that weren’t worth taking home.
