Not another London Heathrow to Cork video I hear you say...! I do the LHR-ORK-LHR trip about 3 or 4 times a year. Most of the flights are after work evening trips. It's so routine that I very rarely worry about getting a window seat. However, when I got a window seat on a previous day time trip I saw a stunning view of Cork Harbour that I hadn't seen before; and I didn't have my camera available!
The London-Cork flight doesn't always fly over the harbour as It also flies in overland after crossing the Celtic Sea. This trip I took a chance. I booked a window seat on the right of the Aer Lingus A320 and we took off from Heathrow on time at 14:00. For the first time that I can remember at Heathrow we taxied for 5 minutes and was straight on the runway. It was so quick that I didn't even have my camera ready!
We flew north from Heathrow; over Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, North Wales before turning South to hit the Irish coast south of the mouth of the Blackwater River in East Cork. We flew along the coast and past Cork Harbour and Cobh on the way. We then turned north over Kinsale and landed at Cork Airport at around 15:00.
So I got my video of Cork Harbour and some other interesting scenery on the way.
