► Sadhana Sargam started singing when she was barely 6 years old.
After learning music under legends like Vasant Desai and Pt Jasraj she grew as a playback singer under Kalyanji Anandji.

In her career spanning more than 40 years, Sadhana has sung in more than 35 languages for all the top music composers of India - including Laxmikant – Pyaarelal, R.D. Burman, Nadeem Shravan, Anu Malik, Rajesh Roshan, Anand-Milind, Jatin-Lalit, Ilaiyaraaja, MM Kreem and many more.

Besides singing few songs with Asha Bhosle, Sadhana Sargam also sang with almost all her contemporary singers. But she had no song with Lata Mangeshkar.

A.R. Rahman filled that void.
In Lagaan, Sadhana Sargam sang ‘O Palahaare’ with Lata Mangeshkar. Though it wasn’t a duet, but Sadhana feels satisfied that she at least has one song with her idol ‘Lata Didi’.

Lagaan was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Starring Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne, Lagaan was nominated for Oscar as Best Foreign Language Film.

Sadhana Sargam also shares the Recording Process in Rahman’s studio, and how Rahman continues to inspire new music composers. .
