Dr. Audrey Jiricko, OB/GYN

I'm Dr. Audrey Jiricko. I'm an OB/GYN and I work out of McKay-Dee Hospital, but also have an office in Layton. When I was getting my undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University, I had various interests. I did a trip to work with Guatemalan refugees my junior year in college, and that was the first time I really started thinking about medicine as a career. When I was in medical school I always thought I wanted to be a pediatrician, and as it turned out that was my very last rotation was OB/GYN, and I found out that I really loved the surgery and being in the operating room.

My favorite patients are the ones who come in, who are highly motivated to improve their health, and energetic. It's sort of like being a coach. That's our goal, is to work together with our patients so they have that kind of energy to face everyday.

Probably my favorite thing about working in obstetrics and gynecology is that we have a team approach here at Watsatch OB/GYN. The satisfaction everyday of working to help improve people's health is really satisfying. With Intermountain there are a lot of opportunities to continue to improve our quality. Intermountain is constantly looking towards the future and we are always working on quality improvement projects every single year to improve our practice and our patient care.
