Week 24: What to Expect During Your Pregnancy + Gina's Pregnancy Journey!

Welcome to week 24 of pregnancy!

This week, baby's about the size of an eggplant (or a Mr. Potato Head toy!). Key highlights include the baby is starting to put on body, they’re becoming a bit more proportional, their inner ears are forming a vestibular system to distinguish up from down, they’re beginning to produce surfactant to aid in lung function and their little nostrils are now open. Notably, most hospitals consider this to be the point of viability if you were to go into preterm labor.

For expectant mothers, Roxanne discusses the changes that may be happening including increased sensitivity and bleeding in your gums when flossing, an increase in back pain, and a noticeable increase in baby’s movement! This is around the time that gestational diabetes can develop, so you may be tested for this soon by your provider.

Additionally, Gina shares her personal pregnancy experience including surprising increase in energy, her rapid bump growth, and the different appointments she has with her providers at this time as she manages her thyroid levels.
