Childhood best friends and neighbours, Mark and Zach, reunite through hiking. Zach’s father, a role model and avid outdoorsman, shared his love of the outdoors with them at an early age. Unfortunately, he suffered a devastating hunting accident that left him blind and with limited mobility. Years earlier, he had biked the Great Divide Route from Mexico to Banff, a remarkable achievement that deeply inspired both Mark and Zach.
The idea of honouring his father’s legacy grew, and they decided to hike the Great Divide Trail together — a journey filled with personal meaning. In addition to their trek, they set up a charity campaign to raise funds for the Alberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind, aiming to provide more opportunities for others facing similar challenges to enjoy sports and outdoor activities.

Their journey along the GDT becomes a tribute to resilience, friendship, giving back, and reflecting the strength of the human spirit.
