My First Solo 50 Mile Ride (Here’s How It Went)

Was a single croissant worth a 50-mile solo bike ride and a 3,500ft climb up Lookout Mountain? I decided to find out. This is my biggest solo day on the bike ever, and all the riding clips in this adventure were captured on the new DJI Osmo Nano.

The mission was simple: ride from Denver to the top of Lookout Mountain in Golden, Colorado, to visit a French cafe and see if their croissant could fuel the journey home. This vlog is a raw look at the ride, the beautiful (and windy) conditions, and the biggest lesson I learned about fueling for long days on the bike. I'm still new to this endurance thing, and this ride taught me a lot.
