Laurie Shaver Cries as Verdict is Read for Husband’s Murder

A Florida jury found Laurie Shaver guilty of second-degree murder for the death of her husband, Michael Shaver. Michael was shot in the back of the head, buried in Laurie’s backyard, and his body was covered by a concrete slab. Laurie will be sentenced on November 25, 2024.

Florida mom Laurie Shaver was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in 2020 after her husband, Michael Shaver, had been missing since 2015. His body was discovered buried beneath a concrete slab in Laurie Shaver’s backyard. In a shocking twist, the couple’s daughter confessed to the crime, claiming she shot her father to protect her mother, who allegedly said he was abusing her at the time. However, in opening statements, Laurie Shaver’s attorney said her lover, Jereme Townshend, shot and killed Michael.
