OK ... So this week, by spreading out my workflow and recording late-night after it cooled down, I was able to use the corner of the barn that I've set up as my preliminary studio. It was really awesome to have my recording rig and some familiar trappings, but since the barn isn't insulated yet, it meant that I had to keep it in the headphones. My next door neighbors are not that close, but at night ... in the country quiet ... the sound travels, and the metal building is kind of like a big resonator. As a result, I'm still not able to use my newly acquired Twin or my beloved AC30. (Thankfully my Apollo has some pretty cool amps in the box so I don't suffer too much going direct). Which means that I'll be working on getting that air-conditioner installed so that I can work during more reasonable hours. That said, no matter how you slice it .... Progress is being made!!

I'm having fun mining some of the material I've done in other formats, and re-imagining it with the Novation. This time around I reached for one of my favorite RL Burnside numbers, Goin' Down South. So, get up and groove with me like it's 2AM in a steamy juke joint, and I'll be back next week!!

P.S. I call these "stacked one take" covers, because although they are multi tracked, each track is a single unedited take. In case y'all were curious.
