Watch KSRTC Ambaari Utsav Volvo 9600 inaugural bus journey. I chose the bus running on Bangalore to Goa route as this was the only route with ghat road. Other routes are mainly just plain roads. Bangalore to Goa route is via the Yellaour Ghat, so this makes the journey that much more exciting. Moreover, we get to see the new Volvo 9600 Sleeper bus perform on this route. On 24th of February, 2023, these new Volvo buses were going to run on their maiden trips. Hence, didn't want to miss this opportunity. This bus is a 7:30 pm bus from Majestic, Bus Terminal 1. As of now there are 3 Ambaari Utsav buses running on Bangalore to Hyderabad route. For other routes only one bus as of now. The bus interiors are similar to that in KSRTC Swift. Total 40 berths with USB charging points and luggage rack. Blanket & bedsheet was also provided. We had the KSRTC managers also present at the bus stand. They had come to wish the passengers on this inaugural bus trip. This bus is a 15mts long bus. Compared to Ambaari Dream Class, this bus is less powered in order to give better fuel efficiency. Ambaari Dream Class has 430 HP, whereas Ambaari Utsav is 350 HP. AMbaari Dream Class comes with an 11-liter engine whereas Ambaari Utsav comes with an 8-liter engine. The bus crew gave out roses & cookies to the passengers who boarded this inaugural bus.

The bus crew were very friendly and supportive. They even invited me for dinner with them. Both drivers are well-mannered and cooperative. Both these drivers previously did Pune - Bangalore trips. The bus was speed locked at 80 which is expected from new buses. However, we still were doing good. There was a KSRTC Scania which was also on Bangalore to Goa route running on the same time as ours. So we were chasing them most of the journey. There was some very dense fog near Kalghatgi which made really difficult to drive as could not even see the road. We reached Goa (Panjim) at 8:57 am. The scheduled time to reach Panjim was 8:45 am, however, we had left from Majestic 15 minutes late as well. So in spite of the bus being 80 locked and brand new. We actually reached on time. I was really happy with the bus & the crew.

Around 15 - 20 buses were inaugurated from the Vidhan Soudha. The routes these buses are running on as of now are:

Bangalore - Mangalore
