Watch KSRTC Ambaari Utsav Volvo 9600 bus journey from Mangalore to Bangalore. This is the first time that you have a KSRTC Ambaari bus running on Mangalore to Bangalore route during the daytime. Usually, these premium sleeper buses run at night time. KSRTC Ambaari Utsav Volvo 9600 buses did their inaugural bus journeys on 24th February 2023 to various destinations. I had mentioned in my previous inaugural bus journey that I wanted to travel on Bangalore to Kundapur route to check how the bus performs on the Shiradi ghat. However, at that time this route was not active. However, the very next day the route for Bangalore to Mangalore was announced. So I decided to do Mangalore to Bangalore on 26th Feb 2023. Luckily this was a day journey, which meant you could see the ghat condition during daytime. I was informed that this particular bus that I was traveling in was initially from Bangalore bus depot but then was changed to Mangalore bus depot. A total of 4 of these Ambaari Utsav buses are to run from Mangalore. Two buses on Mangalore to Pune route while the other two would run on Kundapur to Bangalore route. This bus leaves from the Mangalore bus stand at 12:30 pm and is scheduled to reach Bangalore Majestic by 8:30 pm. The same bus then does from Bangalore to Mangalore, on the same day at 10:50 pm. Our bus reached Majestic by 10 pm, which was quite late mainly due to the weekend traffic on road. The Shiradi Ghat road conditions also made it a bit difficult to maintain punctuality on this route.

These sleeper buses have total 40 berths with USB charging points and luggage rack. Blanket & bedsheet was also provided. We had the KSRTC managers also present at the bus stand. They had come to wish the passengers on this inaugural bus trip. This bus is a 15mts long bus. Compared to Ambaari Dream Class, this bus is less powered in order to give better fuel efficiency. Ambaari Dream Class has 430 HP, whereas Ambaari Utsav is 350 HP. AMbaari Dream Class comes with an 11-liter engine whereas Ambaari Utsav comes with an 8-liter engine. The bus crew gave out roses to the passengers who boarded this inaugural bus.

The bus crew were very friendly and supportive. The driver Clifford Anna previously used to drive KSRTC Airavat on Mangalore to Mumbai route. Since, there was a shortage of trained drivers, Clifford anna was made to drive the Ambaari Utsav bus. I also got to meet Ganesh anna, whom I had traveled with on Mangalore to Mumbai route post covid restrictions.

Around 15 - 20 buses were inaugurated from the Vidhan Soudha. The routes these buses are running on as of now are:

Bengaluru - Trivandrum
Bengaluru - Ernakulam
Bangalore - Hyderabad
Bengaluru - Goa
Bangalore - Chennai
Bangalore - Mangalore
