Recipe: Delicious Chana Bhaji with Keema
Duration: Approx. 5 minutes
"Assalam Walekum! Welcome to Rubina’s Zaika. Winter is here, and markets are brimming with fresh greens. Among these, Chana Bhaji (chickpea leaves) is a seasonal delight. Today, we’re making Chana Bhaji with Keema, a flavorful and hearty dish. Let’s get started!"
Ingredients:
200g Fresh Chana Bhaji (washed)
200g Minced Meat (Keema)
2 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 tbsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
1 Onion (sliced)
1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
1 tbsp Coriander Powder
1 tbsp Salt (adjust to taste)
2 tbsp Green Chilli Paste (adjust for spice preference)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preparation
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds. Let them crackle.
Add ginger-garlic paste. Sauté for a few seconds to release the aroma.
Step 2: Cooking the Base
3. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden.
4. Mix in turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Fry the spices briefly.
5. Add green chilli paste. Adjust spice level based on preference.
Step 3: Adding Keema
6. Add minced meat. Mix well to coat it in the spices.
7. Cover and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the keema to release its juices.
8. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Step 4: Adding Chana Bhaji
9. Add washed Chana Bhaji. Mix well.
10. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Allow the greens to release their natural moisture.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
11. Add 1 tbsp oil for enhanced flavor. Mix well and cook until the dish thickens.
12. Turn off the flame and let the dish cool slightly.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve hot with roti, chapati, or rice.
Ideal for lunchboxes and breakfast.
