A medicinal chemistry minilecture on the 'Synthesis and In Vitro Profiling of Psilocin Derivatives: Improved Stability and Synthetic Properties' by Julia Eklund, Ulf Bremberg,* Jessica Larsson, Edvard Torkelsson, Johan Wennerberg,* Symantha Zandelin, and Luke R. Odell*. It explains the metabolism of psilocybin and how this can be modified to produce more active psilocin analogues. An improved chemical synthesis of psilocin esters is explained along with strategies to improve the stability and manufacture of psilocin salts.
