Thunderstorm caused a power outage at a major intersection, resulting in a dangerous traffic situation.
Battlefield Blvd is a very busy road at this hour. It's a 6-lane highway that's a major thoroughfare between Chesapeake, VA and North Carolina. This intersection is right next to an interchange with Interstate 64, and there's a very big shopping center at this intersection. Even though it's called Wal-Mart Way, there's about 100 other businesses in the shopping center.
Combine all of that with rush hour traffic, wet roads, thunderstorms, and power outages, and you've got a huge mess. I was lucky that this wasn't a lot worse.
