DEATH VALLEY in a VW Bus

I traveled to Death Valley in a 1958 Volkswagen Bus. The scariest part of the journey was driving up Interstate 15 in the early morning hours alongside a bunch of semi-trucks. I exited at Baker and headed north on Highway 127, battling strong crosswinds. Vintage Overland Adventures

I adventured through the famous Death Valley Junction and refueled at a casino just over the California/Nevada state line, where gas cost $3.69 per gallon.

I made it to Furnace Creek and then traveled south past Badwater, where I encountered many visitors. I found my turn-off to "West Side Road," aired down at the Y in the road, and hit the trail up Warm Springs Road.
