NICE VOCAL GROUP HARMONY FROM LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA: The Pyramids need no introduction for long time 1960's surf era instrumental music fans, as they had a top 20 national hit with "Penetration" in 1963 and their output was quite extensive with many other records. This vocal group harmony song
was written by Willie Glover, one of the rare black musicians that was in a surf music band in that time period, was released 1965. It was Willie and Skip Mercier who started the band in the early 1960's while students at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, and they performed all over the local area in many venues, including the Marina Palace near the airport. Hope you enjoy the song and pictures of the band and also many from the Long Beach and surrounding areas back in the day to jog a few memories!
