Quick weeknight dinner: Shepherds pie 😋

Tonight we're making a quick and delicious dinner, shepherds pie. Lets get started..
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef(I'm using leftover taco meat)
1 yellow onion diced, 2 TBSP butter
1 TBSP minced garlic
one frozen bag of mixed vegetables
1/2 pack ranch ( I'm using rancho taco)
2 TBSP tomato paste ( I'm using tomato soup)
2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
1 tsp garlic and onion powder
1 cup of beef broth ( I used chicken)
salt and pepper to taste

6-8 potatoes peeled and cut into smaller pieces- (I'm using leftover mashed potatoes)
half stick of butter
1 can of evaporated milk or 1 1/2 cups of whole milk, a dollop of sour cream

Start by adding your ground beef to a skillet on medium heat whether cooking fresh or using leftover meat. Add onion and mix around with the hamburger. Add a couple tablespoons of butter if not enough grease to soften up the onions. If cooking fresh meat, drain grease when meat is no longer pink. Next add the seasonings listed above and add the minced garlic. Cook all this together giving it a good mix for just about 1 minutes. Next, add the tomato paste. Mix that together until all the tomato paste is no longer visible. Add the mixed vegetables and broth. Let this simmer down for 5-10 minutes until the liquid is almost absorbed.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and get a 9x13 casserole dish. At this point if you were boiling your potatoes, you would only do so until fork tender, then drain. Add the butter, milk, sour cream and blend with a mixer until smooth.
Put the meat mixture on the bottom of the casserole dish, then a layer of shredded cheese, followed by the mashed potatoes. Make sure it spread out evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
