Training doesn't happen overnight it takes time it takes dedication and it takes understanding. There is a huge misconception in the world that if an elephant was trained, it was beaten and abused, now I can't speak on behalf of every elephant trainer in the world however, elephants learn, just like children a little bit every day as they grow up. You can't just tie up a baby elephant, beat it, and then expect it to understand words and what they mean. There are no shortcuts to training. It is always going to take time dedication and an immense amount of patience. A trained animal living in captive care has so many more opportunities, benefits and freedoms, than an untrained animal. It's like giving your child a good education with a good education they will have many more opportunities in their life.
