They are far and few between but rest assure there are still places going for $1,000 in rent in Seattle. Will it be a 1bed 1 bath 550+ soft? Probably not, you'll more than likely land yourself in a micro unit with a $1,000 price range.
This time we explored the neighborhoods of Ballard which is about a 10min car ride from DT Seattle. Very unique place, but definitely would need to assess all areas of your life as far as commuting because Ballard is well out of the way for a lot of different things.
Micro Units are one way cities are coating the housing crisis seen in so many major cities. If you are on the go and only plan to sleep and be conscious for a few hours out of the day, Micro Units may be the most cost effective way. Also, if you are just moving from out of state it can be a cheap alternative as they usually run from $800-1100 per month normally the base price includes everything (w/s/t) since they aren't always able to be individually metered.
