Bahamas Adventure - Day 07
A stressful day navigating the Champlain Canal! We started our journey at Smiths Basin and were making great time toward Lock 9, passing under multiple low-clearance bridges—some reportedly as low as {17 feet}.
Unfortunately, disaster struck at one of the bridges: we hit our anchor light, damaging it on the underside of the structure! It was a frustrating and surprising moment, especially after successfully navigating so many similar bridges.
We originally planned to anchor or dock for the night in Lock 4, but the incredibly helpful lock keeper let us pass through both Lock 4 and Lock 3!
