Vishnu Sahasranamam is a sacred Hindu hymn consisting of 1,000 names of Lord Vishnu, each describing His divine qualities, attributes, and cosmic functions. It was recited by Bhishma, while he lay on the bed of arrows during the final moments of the Kurukshetra war. It was sung when Yudhishthira asks Bhishma to explain the path to ultimate peace, righteousness, and liberation. In response, Bhishma chants the Vishnu Sahasranamam.
