Deep in the Western Desert of Egypt is a remote oasis that lies on the edges of the Great Sand Sea, just 50km from the border of Libya. Welcome to the Siwa Oasis. This "hidden" gem has in recent years become well known because of their stunningly blue salt pools, which have been circulating on social media platforms, but there is so much more to see and do here. From exploring ancient ruins and tombs to sand boarding down megadunes, relaxing beneath date palm trees or soaking in the many natural hot and cold springs, this oasis is truly magical. I'm on a solo motorcycle road trip from Cairo to Siwa and just arrived to the oasis.
