Johann Strauß II (1825-1899) was an Austrian composer.
As can be seen from the many words used to praise him, such as "the Waltz King," "the other Emperor of Vienna," and "the Sun of Vienna," he was the most successful and popular composer of the Wiener Walzer. His father, Johann I, was also an excellent composer, and his two younger brothers and nephew, Johann III, were talented composers as well. His "The Blue Danube" continues to shine as the greatest masterpiece of the Wiener Walzer.
