The CSU is the nation's largest four-year public university, with 23 campuses, educating the most ethnically, economically and academically diverse student body in the nation. Dr. Castro serves as the eighth chancellor to lead the CSU. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his Ph.D. from Stanford University. With an expertise in higher education policy and leadership, he is a renowned, gifted scholar. He has mentored hundreds of other scholars and practitioners, including many university presidents and senior officers.
