Managing AI with Emotionally Intelligent Leadership - Film 2: Leader-Member Exchange Theory

COB Organizational Wisdom Studio’s second episode in its “Managing AI with EI” track explores the question: Can interacting with AI agents help employees reduce their loneliness? The episode features the film titled “Artificial Bliss”, produced by Team HR Procrastinators. This experimental comedy film explores how Leader-Member Exchange Theory along with emotional intelligence can help managers to empower employees who befriend with an AI companion in their efforts to overcome loneliness.

Recent developments in large language models and AI innovations have started changing the paradigm on how employees perform their jobs in organizations, which in turn has prompted business schools to explore new directions in research, pedagogy, and curriculum. Addressing this topic, the experimental comedy film illustrates a near future where AI agents have already become a regular part of work groups and have started developing certain social relationships with employees in these work environments.

Wisdom Studio’s this new track intends to prompt our disciplined imagination to explore how organizational members can manage AI. Following the film, Dr. Oguzhan Aygoren, the Director at Institute for Business Innovation at University of California, Berkeley, joins program co-hosts Elisabeth Nunziato and Dr. Hakan Ozcelik to lead a forum with the audience on this film.
