Five days. Hundreds of miles. Countless obstacles. This is the grand finale of our Ozark Overland Adventure Trail.
We woke up on Day 5 with my ankle still swollen and throbbing, but the trail wasn’t going to wait. Our mission: to complete the journey at the legendary Buffalo River.
🚙 Right from the start, the day tested us with some of the deepest river crossings yet—water rushing inside the Jeeps, nearly to our knees as we pushed forward.
💦 Along the way, we discovered two breathtaking waterfalls, including the famous Six Finger Falls, their crystal waters a reminder of the Ozarks’ raw beauty.
🔧 But adventure always comes with a cost. A loose diff plate threatened to sideline us, forcing trailside repairs before we could continue.
⛰️ Then came the NARS, a razor-thin ridgeline with the Buffalo River on one side and the valley on the other—a hike that delivered unforgettable views.
🌊 And finally… the Buffalo River itself. Swollen, raging, and impassable. After days of pushing deeper into the Ozarks, we were forced to face the truth: the river wasn’t letting us through. Our journey ended right there, staring at the current that stood in our way.
This was the adventure of a lifetime, packed with challenges, beauty, and unforgettable memories. Thank you for riding along with us on this Ozark Overland Adventure.
👉 Don’t miss the finale—watch now and experience every moment of Day 5.

I have dedicated this video in memory of my loving father. On Day 4, I received an emergency satellite call at camp from home telling me my father was in the ICU (something that has happened often). I drove out of the Ozarks on Day 5 and rushed home. After cleaning up, I immediately went to the hospital to be with him and family, only to find out this time was different. This time was certain to be the last time.
He was having major complications that could not be corrected. The Dr gave us a maximum of 12 days with him (but we knew it would be sooner). The hospital made him very comfortable, closed the blinds to the room, turned off the alarms on the monitors and allowed the process to happen naturally.
For the next 3 days, we made a make shift bed in his room and stayed there just loving on him. Telling him what an amazing father he was, reminiscing on a lifetime of stories and praying with him. I brought my guitar into the room and we worshiped and sang John Denver songs for hours.
He passed peacefully just 3 days after this video was filmed.
I miss you Dad.
