The history of Dunn's Swamp is tied to the construction of the Kandos Weir in the 1920s to supply water for the Kandos cement factory. The weir, built across the Cudgegong River, created the reservoir known as Dunn's Swamp, which was previously a boggy area named after the Dunn Brothers who had used the freshwater source in 1877. Today, the area is a popular recreation spot within Wollemi National Park, known for its scenic pagoda rock formations and Aboriginal sites.
Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp is located 27 klms from Rylston on the western side of the Blue Mountains .
