In this lesson, we’re exploring line, one of the basic elements of art. This simple drawing activity helps kids build confidence by turning different kinds of lines into their own artwork.
This lesson is designed for elementary-age kids and works especially well for homeschool families. We’ll focus on exploration, creativity, and process — not perfection.
In this video, kids will:
Learn about different kinds of lines
Experiment freely with drawing
Turn simple lines into original artwork
Practice observing, trying, and reflecting
All you need for this lesson is paper and something to draw with — no special supplies required.
Parents: this is a great low-pressure lesson to sit alongside your child or let them work independently. There is no “right” way for the artwork to look.
