Over K1.3 million is being spent to drill nine solar-powered boreholes in Kaputa District, Northern Province. The boreholes have been installed across five wards, markets, the Central Business District (CBD), and other public spaces.
Three of the boreholes were drilled under the 2024–2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), while the remaining six are funded through the World Bank.
Speaking during the commissioning of the water projects, Kaputa Constituency Member of Parliament Elvis Nkandu said the emergency drilling was prompted by the breakdown of the Chambeshi Water and Sewerage Company pump station, which supplies water to approximately five wards in the district.
