This area was once a thriving with industrial activities...coal mines, steel / iron works, brick production, glassworks, and so much more...now in decline. Population is 3,866 and declining each year, and the poverty level is over 25%. With the loss of jobs from the power plant and industrial activity in general, many had to leave to find work elsewhere.
