It’s an attempt to hold an identity for yourself--an identity you want us to believe you are. Any time you feel anger or irritation, that identity is being threatened. Any time you lie, even the tiniest bit, you're manipulating the person’s perception of the 'I' you want to be seen as. There’s an ongoing, false creation of our identity."
