HAPPY FRIDAY!
On Friday, November 7th, 2025, at approximately 11:11 a.m., I was in the area of Colonel Glenn Road and Interstate 430 when I observed a blue Dodge Charger bearing Texas license plate VDW 1500. This vehicle had previously fled from the Alexander Police Department on November 1st, 2025 (reference APD report #25-00472). A National Crime Information Center (NCIC) query of the vehicle showed the registration to be expired. I attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver, later identified as Malik Moore, entered the private parking lot of Sonic located at 11700 Colonel Glenn Road. Mr. Moore traveled around the business before exiting onto Colonel Glenn Road, traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. I notified Troop A Communications that I was in pursuit of the vehicle. Mr. Moore then turned north onto Bowman Road, where he lost control of the vehicle. To prevent a dangerous and lengthy high-speed pursuit, I positioned my vehicle alongside the driver’s side of the suspect vehicle and conducted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), causing the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise.
During the TVI, Mr. Moore continued to accelerate, as evidenced by his tires spinning and producing smoke. To prevent further flight, I conducted a second TVI, striking the driver’s side door with the driver-side portion of my bumper. Trooper Chase Landry arrived on scene and pinned the front of the suspect vehicle, ending the pursuit. Mr. Moore was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had no liability insurance and that the rear tires were defective. Mr. Moore was not wearing a seatbelt and was found to have a suspended driver’s license. I informed Mr. Moore of his Miranda rights, and he verbally acknowledged that he understood them. When asked why he fled, Mr. Moore stated that his tags were expired. I then asked if that was the same reason he fled from the Alexander Police Department in the previous incident, to which he replied, “Yes.” Mr. Moore was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center, where he was cleared by medical personnel before being transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
He was charged with the following offenses: • 5-54-125(d) – Fleeing - Vehicle or Conveyance - Substantial Danger of Death • 27-14-701 – Owner of Vehicle Fail to Register • 27-22-104 – No Liability Insurance • 27-37-702 – No Seatbelt • 27-16-303 – Driving on Suspended License • 27-37-401 – Defective Tires Contact was made with Alexander PD, who advised they were obtaining warrants on Mr. Moore based on his statements to me.
