This is my farming team at +7 difficulty. I'd say it's more than 95% stable, and the best I can do with my current roster. Certain characters like Dancer Fiore, Rinyuu or Tithi make this fight a lot more managable, but wven with those characters at level 10 you will find this boss a significant challenge! The video includes all fights. Enjoy! :D

Notes on the the game board: Arena of the Ebony Dragon
The level multiplier is not linear unlike other boards. Multiplier at 0 to +5 goes from 1x to 2x as normal. Level +6 and +7 adds another .5x becoming 2.5x and 3x respectively. Level +8, +9 and +10 adds another 1x becoming 4x, 5x and 6x respectively. At 8 tickets you have a maximum multiplier of 48x which is twice the amount of other boards at level 10.
Despite higher difficulties giving more yield, I highly recommend to begin at the difficulty that you feel comfortable with. Then increase +1 when you are confident at the current level.
Level +5 and +6 are roughly equal to the medal yield you get from the champion boards, so unless you need only one kind of medal I recommend farming the dragon board at a tleast this level.
You have 4 routes you can take, 3 of which have semi-random fights. The route to the bottom right has only two fights and slightly more medal gain for some reason. Its best to pick the route that is easiest for your team to clear. You can find a cheat-sheet on the various weaknesses at MeowDB: https://meowdb.com/db/octopath-travel...
Strategic Notes
This composition is ultra-specific to my roster and playstyle. If one move or piece of equipment is just a little off the plan, it may fail, therefore I don't recommend to copy it unless you have exactly the same characters and equipment. Despite that, I hope it can give you some ideas on how to do your own teams.
There are two important RNG factors in the final fight.
1. Sword debuff may not proc from Richard, and then we can't finish in 6 turns. But I am able to kill the dragon the following turn 100% of the time so it's not a major issue.
2. Serenoa counters when hit by physical attack. This helps us shield shave but it also makes it harder to predict when to stop. At turn 3 Serenoa will be the control here. I adjust his boost level (# of attacks) according to what I need. The goal is to leave the boss at 4 shields, not considering counters. The break timing can fail if the dragon suddenly decides to do physical attacks 4 times in a row, which is very rare. Just reset if it happens.
At +6 I don't need any damage mitigation, but already at +7 my frontline gets wrecked by Dragonfire if I don't use viola's anti-attack. Alfyn's fire resitance buff also helps.
Speed: Richard must be faster than Berserk A2. Chloe should be faster than the Dragon, but slower than Berserk A2. Viola should be faster than dragon but slower than Chloe. Serenoa must be faster than Alfyn on turn 1 and faster than the first two fights until turn 3, therefore he has a Golden Ballen Cap. Bad luck can ruin the run if any of these are not in place.
