Clicquot Club Eskimos (Harry Reser’s Band) – Beautiful Face, Have a Heart, Fox-Trot (Rose, Monaco, Fisher) with Vocal refrain (by Tom Stacks) Columbia 1928 (USA)
NOTE: Clicquot Club Eskimos was a popular musical radio program first heard in 1923, with a dance orchestra led by banjo virtuoso Harry Reser. A popular ginger ale, Clicquot Club, was a major rival to Canada Dry. Clicquot was the name of the Eskimo mascot depicted in commercials and on the product. The program aired on WEAF from 1923 to 1926, and in 1926 was transferred to the NBC radio network, where it aired as a half-hour program until 1933. Reser's performances on WEAF were described as "glittering," prompting sponsorship of his ensamble. The Clicquot Club Eskimos became extremely popular in the United States, with band members wearing Eskimo costumes when performing in front of studio audiences, and barking huskies were a feature of the opening song of Harry Reser's "Clicquot”.The sheet music covers of the time depicted the band performing in the frigid scenery of the Far North. In addition to leading a dance orchestra, Harry Reser also pursued a career as a soloist playing the bajo, one of the best of its time. He also wrote banjo playing manuals.
According to the song's theme, the slideshow portraits some vinage women with no heart or looking like one.
