We’ve all been there. You log into Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram planning to “do some marketing,” and 20 minutes later you’re scrolling through your competitor’s posts, your cousin’s vacation pics, or your ex’s new relationship. Even worse—you trick yourself into thinking that liking a few posts or debating in a Facebook group is actually prospecting.
Here’s the truth: social media can be the biggest time-suck in your business—unless you use it with intention.
That’s where the 30-10-5-5-3-1 Rule comes in. It’s a simple, repeatable daily formula that keeps you consistent, helps you deepen relationships, and actually grows your brand instead of wasting time.
Step 1: 30 Minutes of Focused Social Media
Block just 30 minutes per day. That’s it. Not hours. Not “whenever I get around to it.”

• “Hi Maggy! Hope all’s well! Been sharing creative loan options with agents—love to see how we can collaborate for your clients.”
That’s real follow-up—not just posting and praying.
Step 6: 1 Post of Your Own 📢
Finally, put your voice out there. Share a:
• Quick tip
• Client story
• Market insight
• New listing
• Win or lesson
Pro tip: Prep your content first thing. That way, you’re not scrambling at the end of your 30 minutes.
