Caspian Turkmenistan Project KTC400 linear winch

The scope of work for the Caspian Turkmenistan Project with the KTC400 linear winch is the installation of a 3000 meters long, 14” OD, 12.7 mm. thick, 90 mm. concrete coated steel landfall pipeline in the Caspian Sea – Turkmenistan. The winch is rented for a maximum pull force of 350 mton.

The KTC400 linear winch is designed and engineered by Kley France on specification of Bezemer. The linear winch has socket passing capabilities and is often used for pipe pull operations, however also regularly used for deepwater lowering pperations. The winch Is capable of continuous paying out under load. The power unit has some special features to accommodate this type of operations, i.e. large hydraulic oil cooling capacity.
