AI will overturn the world order as we know it, before we know it. The access to ever greater machine intelligence provides enormous efficiency gains, but it is also a source of concern and distrust. What should practitioners and governments do to ensure that AI is developed as a source for good that supports and augments human activities rather than undermines and replaces them? How can rivalrous competition between countries developing AI be prevented from spiraling into a dangerous arms race with ruinous consequences?
